Information about our programs / FAQ

How do I book?

All our activities are booked through our website. If you need help in making a reservation or if you have any questions, you can send us an email or call before booking.

Can I come without making a booking?

We offer 2.5m km husky rides, reindeer rides, and Snowmobiling for children with no advance booking required. These activities run from Monday to Saturday at 11:00–15:00, starting from 22 December 2022. You can buy tickets for these activities when you arrive at Lammintupa.

How many people can get into a reindeer or husky sled?

Before the ride starts, the guide always makes the final decision on how to divide your group. The decision is based on the physical size of the participants, the age of the children, which dogs/reindeer are pulling the sled, and the weather conditions.

As a rule, one sled can accommodate 2 adults and 2 children, depending on their sizes. On a husky ride, one of the adults in the group is the driver. The minimum age for the driver is 15 years.

Can dogs come into the area?

Dogs are not allowed in our cafe area at all. Our own dogs are territorial and the reindeer may be startled by strange dogs, so in order to ensure the safety of all parties, dogs are not welcome here.

If necessary, you can walk your dog at the end of the karting track while staying in the parking area, please remove any droppings.

Can I come just to see the animals?

When you visit the café, you can see dogs and reindeer, but we don’t organize actual kennel tours. You can meet the reindeer and dogs during the rides.

Please note that the animals are resting in the evenings, so please visit us only during our opening hours.

Can children take part in husky or reindeer rides on their own?

We recommend that children are always accompanied with adults on a ride. It is possible for older children to participate in a short reindeer ride by themselves. For the 2.5 km husky ride, we would like an adult to participate and act as the driver, but children can also be accompanied by a guide, if necessary. When the guide is the driver, the waiting time for the ride may be longer depending on the customer situation.

In case of long husky and reindeer rides, children under the age of 15 can only participate if they are accompanied by adults.

Can I take part in your activities if I am pregnant?

Our activities are not recommended for pregnant women, nor for people with e.g. back injuries or other health-related issues that can be affected by vibration or bounces, for instance. However, if you still wish to take part in an activity, you will do so at your own risk.

Special diets?

Dairy-free, vegan, and gluten-free products are available in our cafe.

When booking activities that include meals, you will be asked about special diets in the booking form.

How do I prepare for the activities?

The most important thing when preparing for our activities is to dress warmly enough. Those who take part in snowmobile safaris or ice karting will get overalls, balaclavas, helmets and driving shoes before the start of the activity. Gloves are also available, but you can use your own winter gloves as well.

Those participating in the 5 km and 10 km husky rides also have the opportunity to borrow overalls, just make sure that you will arrive early enough. If you need additional clothing for participating in the Trip to Reindeer Hut or Evening at Reindeer Hut activities, please let us know when you make your reservation.

NB! Please arrive 15 minutes before the start of the activity. The activity starts at the time indicated in your reservation. Please notify us if it seems that you will be late. If you are more than 15 minutes late, we cannot guarantee that you can participate in the activity.

Please check the starting point of the activity from your reservation. Reindeer activities, the 2.5 km husky ride, and Snowmobiling for children start from the café. 5 km and 10 km husky rides, snowmobile safaris, and ice karting activities start from the ice karting track.

Duration of activities and possible changes?

The durations of the activities are approximate and depend on group size and the weather conditions.

For example, it takes significantly less time to complete a 5 km husky ride in icy conditions than when the snow is slushy. A small group of participants in ice karting may finish faster than the estimated time was, while with a larger group we send the drivers onto the track divided in smaller batches, which means that the total time of the activity is also longer.
